How to hire a virtual assistant with GoodWorkVA

Hiring a virtual assistant with GoodWorkVA takes 5 simple steps and usually 3–5 days. You tell us what you need, we send you 3 vetted candidates, you pick one, and your VA starts on your schedule. We handle the hiring, training, equipment, and backup coverage.

The 5 steps

  1. Tell us what you need

Fill out Find My VA in about 2 minutes. Tell us the role, how many hours you need, your time zone, and the tools you use.

  2. Talk with our team

On a short call, we go over your tasks, schedule, and what success looks like. Then we write up the role.

  3. Meet 3 vetted candidates

We send you 3 trained, certified candidates from our talent pool, plus our top pick for your role. You make the final choice.

  4. Sign and start

Sign a simple month-to-month contract and pay your first month. Your VA usually starts within 3–5 days. Hard-to-fill roles can take up to 2 weeks.

  5. We stay involved

Your Success Manager checks in, tracks hours, and responds within 15 minutes during your work hours. If your VA is out, backup coverage keeps work moving.

Who does what

Clear roles mean fewer surprises. Here’s how the work is split.

You

Set priorities, give account access, approve strategy, budgets, and anything that goes public, and share feedback.

Your VA

Does the agreed work, writes down what they did, checks in on schedule, and flags anything blocking progress.

GoodWorkVA

Hires and trains your VA, provides equipment, tracks time, checks quality, handles backup coverage and replacements, and answers fast when you need us.

If your VA isn’t the right fit

It happens. Here’s how we fix it:

  • Give us 7 days’ notice, and we’ll replace your VA.
  • Your first replacement is free. A second one costs 35% of your monthly fee.
  • Still not working? Either side can end the contract with 28 days’ written notice.

Hiring questions

How long does it take to hire a virtual assistant?

With GoodWorkVA, most VAs start within 3–5 days of your first call. If you need a role we don’t have a ready backup for, it can take up to 2 weeks. You skip job posts, resumes, and training because we handle all of it.

Can I choose my virtual assistant?

Yes. We send you 3 vetted candidates and tell you which one we think fits your role best. You make the final choice.

Who employs the virtual assistants?

Our VAs are employed full-time through our partner company in India and work on GoodWorkVA client accounts. They are not freelancers you have to manage. We handle their hiring, training, equipment, and day-to-day support.

What hours will my virtual assistant work?

Your VA follows your schedule. We cover US Eastern, Central, and Pacific time zones. Days off are planned around your schedule, not ours.

What happens if my VA is sick or on vacation?

A backup VA covers your work so nothing stops. Backup coverage is included in your price.

How do I give my VA access to my accounts?

Create a separate user login for your VA with only the permissions they need. Never share your main password. Our VAs use two-factor login and a password manager, and we remove their access as soon as they leave your account.

Ready to hand off the busywork?

Tell us what you need in about 2 minutes. We’ll send you 3 vetted candidates, usually within 3–5 days.
